Almost sixty years ago, as a young girl living in Connecticut, I never dreamt a trip to Estes Park, Colorado would leave such an impression on me and become a pivotal time in my life. Images were seared in my mind of the historical Stanley Hotel where we stayed, the breathtakingly beautiful Bear Lake and it’s charming chubby chipmunks, the amazing smell of majestic pine trees, the grand beauty of the Rockies, the quaint shops filled with touristy memorabilia and treasures, and the, oh so, amazingly wonderful...horses, horses, horses. I fell head over heels in love with the West! I was undeniably Spellbound. Eventually, my paths led me into the world of horses and Western fashion.
For three decades I have created unique leather dresses and jackets for both rodeo queen and horse show clientele. Five Miss Rodeo Americas have been crowned in my work, with numerous appearance winners. I would describe my look as elegant, yet rustic and refined. I love layers and texture and incorporate a multitude of raw edge leather into my designs. By adding specialty leathers, fabric, hand cut fringe, vintage buckles, bolos, exquisite jewelry pieces and even a feather or two, each creation develops it’s own personality. The bottom line for me is always about striving to create beauty.
My direction in design is now focused solely on creating handbags and belts and thus the Spellbound Collection was introduced. I would describe these pieces as sassy, seductive, yet sophisticated with just a touch of the old West. They are the perfect companion for jeans and boots or dress and heels and will no doubt be a conversation piece wherever you go. I personally create each design in my Texas studio guaranteeing exclusivity. May I thank you for taking the time to visit my site! I look forward to your call or email to discuss any questions you might have or to visit about those handbags and belts that are in the works.
